Many players playing Prince will find that Wonders are very easy to build in massive quantity, while not realizing that this is not doable in a higher-difficulty game. In regards to your Civilization Choice, some Civs are better at certain Victory Conditions than others. Emperor is the sweet-spot for many players as Immortal and Deity are very balanced in the AI's favor, while Emperor presents a decent challenge that is not too easy (for most people) without feeling unbeatable. At the time of writing this article, I play on Emperor difficulty because that difficulty exceeds that of a large portion of my audience, meaning I have plenty to teach.
